Deborah Parman
is a debut author whose passion for storytelling has finally culminated in her first book, Oh, Now I Get It! With a background in collegiate education, Deborah brings a unique perspective to her writing, weaving elements of human connectivity and spiritual guidance into her work. Her writing encompasses short stories, narrative fiction, self-help, and children’s literature.
Born and raised in western Colorado, Deborah developed a love for reading and writing at an early age. After completing a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, she earned her Master’s degree in Business and, as an Assistant Professor of Business Administration at Colorado Mesa University, taught for 27 years before retiring in 2020. Deborah draws inspiration from her many years of working with people, allowing her to create rich, compelling narratives that resonate with readers.
Oh, Now I Get It!, her debut novel, is a collection of personal experiences and insights gained through a life’s journey. It centers around those seemingly everyday experiences that we all have—those we might not understand at the time but which ultimately have greater meaning in our lives. Invariably, when we look back, there’s that moment where we see God’s work in our lives and finally “get” His message of love, encouragement, consolation, or joy. It invites readers to take a second look at some of their own experiences and helps them recognize the Lord at work in their lives.
In addition to her literary pursuits, Deborah enjoys traveling, gardening, spending time with her grandchildren, and playing golf. She currently resides in Raymond, Nebraska, with her husband, Jim, and their spoiled Maine Coon cat, where she continues to write and work on her next project. Deborah is excited to connect with readers and share their journey through her upcoming book, Good Afterall, which explores how broken relationships and broken lives can be healed.
